In order to help you understand which type of products or assemblies are suitable for manufacture in China / Mexico, we look at the following key criteria:
- Labour Intensity - The higher the labour content in your product (assembly and packaging etc) the more we can save you.
- Production Volumes - The higher the quantity required the better. Shipping by the container load presents the maximum savings.
- Tooling Requirements - Up to 50% savings on tooling are available in China compared to the West so if tooling amortization is a key issue for you then China could be the solution. We are able to source injection moulding, press/die cutting and extrusion tools with lead times as short as four weeks.
- Component Sourcing Requirements - Many components such as textiles and electronic components are significantly lower cost in China compared to the West. Over 60% of the world's electronics are produced in China! BMP has also built up excellent relationships with a large number of highly competitive Chinese and Asian manufacturing companies able to supply highly competitive plastic, metal, rubber and foam materials / finished products to our exacting technical specifications.
