Cast Polyurethane Elastomers | Synthetic Elastomers | Cast Urethane | Spun Cast Polyurethane

Cast urethane is a unique thermoset elastomeric material that bridges the gap between highly extensible rubber elastomers and low-elongation rigid plastics.
Although light in weight, products made from cast urethane materials exhibit a functional toughness which can withstand industrial abuse that would break down most rubbers, plastics and even metals. Polyurethane can be moulded or spun cast in any hardness or in layers of different hardness's.
BMP is capable of achieving solutions for specialized applications through our extensive knowledge of design, development and processing of synthetic elastomers inclusive of silicone and fluoro-carbon rubbers.
The first process in the manufacture of spun cast Polyurethane is the metering, mixing and de-gassing of the base polymer systems. The precisely controlled G forces generated within the spin casting process ensure inclusion free urethane with enhanced clarity and superior dimensional stability.

Cleaning, Charge Metering & Solvent Metering Blades for Digital Printing Equipment
Cleaning Blades are used as a wiping device to remove residual toner from the Photoreceptor device in digital printing equipment so that the next image can be formed. BMP employ specific polymer chemistry and part metrology to suit every drum/toner combination in order to achieve desired print life. Softer system formulations are also available enabling consistently high image quality and good toner yield.
For new blade applications, BMP is able to offer rapid tooling development and sampling via its Asian manufacturing facility. Polyurethane may be accurately mounted to custom designed pressed metal or extruded aluminium supports using either cyanoacrylate, polyurethane adhesive or a range of pressure sensitive adhesive tapes.
Squeegee Blades
Squeegee blades control the flow of solvent and UV based printing inks through a tightly meshed screen onto a substrate. The substrate to be imaged may be extremely diverse from paper and cardboard through to vinyl's and glass.
BMP's range of flowprint Squeegee blades exhibit minimal swelling whilst maintaining hardness, resilience and abrasion resistance throughout life. BMP's SureEdge cutting process and vision inspection control means that the functional edge of flowprint Squeegee blades can be maintained within a maximum radius of 0.003 mm.
